New tavern in Eureka Eagle House
Taverne 1888 will open on October 14 at 5:30 p.m. in the historic Adlerhaus in the old town. A ribbon-cutting ceremony opens the festivities, which last until 10:00 p.m. Canary and the Vamp and DJ Marjo Lak provide live music in the ballroom of the large theatre.
Tavern 1888 serves upscale coastal cuisine with seasonal dishes sourced from Humboldt County’s land, sea and air. Cocktails and mocktails are also available.

College of the Redwoods hosts career fair
The College of the Redwoods is hosting a Career Fair on November 28 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Learning Resource Center. Local businesses can network with past and present CR students and recruit future employees.
CR’s career center and advisors are available to assist students and employers in meeting professional qualification requirements through CR’s professional training and certification programs.
This event is open to the entire community.

Coast Central Announces New Bank Vice President
Coast Central Credit Union announced that Fred J. Moore III has been promoted to executive vice president and will work closely with President/CEO James T. Sessa to lead the credit union.
Moore has 35 years of financial institutions experience and has been with Coast Central for over four years.
Prior to joining Coast Central in 2018, Moore was Senior Vice President/CFO at Redwood Capital Bank, working with a team to found the organization from incorporation proposal approval to incorporation in 2003.
Open Door partner with MAVEN Project
Open Door Community Health Centers partners with the MAVEN project to provide access to specialist physicians ranging from mental and behavioral health to pain management, oncology and endocrinology.
