YouTuber MrBeast Says He Spends $8 Million a Month

America’s largest YouTuber MrBeast said he spends between $7 million and $8 million a month producing content on his YouTube channels and promoting his company

The YouTuber, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has 105 million subscribers on his main channel and has become known for releasing lavish, high-budget videos featuring large sets and cash gifts, such as recreating the set from ‘Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. for fans to participate in a series of challenges and win $500,000.

On a Sept. 27 episode of The Iced Coffee Hour podcast, host Graham asked Stephan Donaldson for a breakdown of his monthly spend on his main channel as well as the various side channels he runs.

Donaldson told Stephan that he spends about $200,000 a month on his two channels, Beast Reacts and MrBeast Gaming, and about $3-4 million on his main channel.

Across all of his YouTube channels, including marketing for a line of chocolate products and a burger restaurant chain he owns, Donaldson has said he spends between $7 million and $8 million a month.

Donaldson said his expenses are managed by an accounting team that approves his spending plans for each new video.

“I go in and I go, I want to give 100 people $100,000, and they’re like, ‘You’re crazy,'” Donaldson said.

The YouTuber explained that he’s been able to spend that much money on videos by “reinvesting” income from ad revenue and views on his existing videos, adding that he’s not worried about his own financial future.

“The videos are called up even if I don’t upload them. So if I really wanted to, I could just live off the money the views were bringing in,” he said.

Donaldson is one of the highest-paid creators on YouTube, having earned an estimated $24 million, according to a 2020 Forbes report. In addition to his main channel, he runs a number of smaller alternative content channels such as Beast Reacts, MrBeast Gaming, and Beast Philanthropy, which have a total of 58 million subscribers.

He previously told The Verge in 2018 that he reinvested “every dollar” made from YouTube in new content. “Youtube just pays better than you think,” he said.
