Wyche is celebrating his centenary as an attorney by providing money to someone in the state to attend one of South Carolina’s most prestigious and unique scholarship programs.
Wyche partnered with Liberty Fellowship to cap the Greenville-based law firm’s one-year celebration of its centennial. The Challenge to Lead calls on the business community to help build South Carolina’s next generation of leaders by investing in the community’s rigorous leadership program.
Wyche is investing $55,000 in the program over the next three years and has challenged other regional and statewide companies to match or exceed the company’s commitment.
For Wyche, the commitment is part of the firm’s celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the South Carolina law practice, according to a press release. This and other contributions by Wyche over the past year are part of the company’s Centennial Legacy Project, designed to reflect and renew Wyche’s commitment to its core principles of service to the community: business advancement, societal impact, community transformation and environmental protection.
Liberty Fellowship is the only federal fellowship program of its kind in the United States, and there are more than 300 Liberty Fellows working together throughout South Carolina. The community strives to activate individual leaders through a deeper understanding of a just, free and just society; serves as a convener to bring diverse perspectives together to advance civil discourse; and, according to the press release, offers an infrastructure for measures. Liberty Fellowship is a nonpartisan, nonsectarian, undogmatic organization that operates independently of the positions and views of its donors.
“Liberty Fellowship is very aligned with the ideals that have shaped Wyche’s 100-year practice and remain at the heart of our unique approach to serving our customers and community,” said Tally Parham Casey, Wyche’s CEO and Chairman Publication. “Wyche is honored to have the opportunity to partner with the Fellowship to support future leaders in our state.”
Liberty Fellows are selected based on an extensive nomination and interview process designed to evaluate candidates who offer unique and diverse perspectives to address the most critical issues facing the people of South Carolina. Participants are selected based on both merit and demonstrated community involvement.
With offices in Greenville, Spartanburg and Columbia, Wyche is the South Carolina member of Lex Mundi, the world’s premier association of independent law firms.
