Touch ‘n Go eWallet announces winners of Young Entrepreneurship Challenge 2022

Team Leh Go, the Grand Prize Winner of Young Entrepreneurship Challenge 2022Touch ‘n Go eWallet has announced the winners of its 2022 Young Entrepreneurship Challenge following the recently held Grand Finals.

In a statement, the company said the Young Entrepreneurship Challenge 2022 will provide a platform for students to experience, innovate and advance their entrepreneurial skills in the eWallet industry.

A total of 93 individuals and 88 teams, in a total of 256 presentation decks, shared their most innovative ideas on how Touch ‘n Go eWallet could further enhance enjoyment while promoting continued eWallet use among Malaysians.

The goal of the challenge was to encourage students to present their inspirations for Touch ‘n Go eWallet as the preferred cashless payment method in Malaysia, it said.

According to Touch ‘n Go eWallet, five teams totaling 18 students were selected for the grand finals.

Most of the participants were students from local public and private universities, adding that the challenge also included Malaysian students from Singapore, China and Hong Kong studying abroad, it said.

The top five ideas that made it to the finals came from Team MOP, Team Leh Go, Team Imagine Fantasy and Team Touch ‘n Glow.

Alan Ni, Chief Executive Officer of TNG Digital Sdn Bhd, “Most of them presented such great innovative ideas, which made our work a bit more difficult during the evaluation.

“We appreciate their enthusiasm in showcasing their creative ideas as it motivates and inspires Touch ‘n Go eWallet to strive to do better than before,” he said.

The top prize went to Sunway University’s team Leh Go with their GoShare idea of ​​a shared wallet system that offers split bills, manages finances and tracks expenses.

The team received US$2,190 (RM10,000) in Touch ‘n Go eWallet credit and a US$219 (RM1,000) Klook voucher for each member.

The Imagine Fantasy team, made up of students from Universiti Malaya and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn, won second prize with the idea of ​​GOCity.

The team received US$1,750 (RM8,000) Touch ‘n Go eWallet credit and a US$219 (RM1,000) Klook voucher for each member.

Team MOP, consisting of students from National University of Singapore, University of Nottingham Malaysia and Nanyang Technological University, took third place for their GOsave idea, receiving US$1,098 (RM5,000) Touch ‘n Go eWallet credit and $219 (RM1). 000) Klook voucher for each member.

Other finalists also received prizes as a reward for their submission and participation in the challenge, Touch ‘n Go said.

The top four and five finalists received US$429 (RM2,000) Touch ‘n Go eWallet credit and US$219 (RM1,000) Klook voucher for each member, while the top 6 to 10 finalists received US$219 ( RM1,000) Touch received ‘n Go eWallet credit and US$175 (RM800) Klook voucher for each member.

Ni said that participating in the 2022 Young Entrepreneurship Challenge nurtured and expanded students’ thinking skills in developing innovative solutions to problems and helped them develop an interest in entrepreneurship.

“Our warmest congratulations to all winners – we really appreciate their diligent efforts in submitting and sharing their ideas with us and look forward to making winners’ ideas a reality in the future,” he added.

Besides winning the challenge, the 18 grand finalists also received an open job offer to join TNG Digital Sdn Bhd upon graduation.
