Keeping a job in the coaching bench has proven to be one of the most difficult tasks for any football manager.
In the Premier League, for example, there have already been two layoffs and management changes at three different clubs.

This has been the same scenario across Europe’s top five football leagues, with several other managers currently at risk of losing their jobs.
Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann is one of many coaches under pressure, while in France Lucien Favre of Nice faces a similar fate after a poor start to Ligue 1.

10. Quique Setien
Quique Setien has yet to get a new job two years after his sacking at Barcelona.
Setien’s dismissal came after Barca’s humiliating 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
9. Frank de Boer
Frank de Boer’s career as a manager hasn’t gone entirely well for him.
While he’s had successful spells at Barcelona and Ajax as a player, he’s had his fair share of struggles as a coach.
De Boer has yet to get another job two years after being sacked as Netherlands head coach after Oranje’s knockout round of Euro 2020.

Andre Villas-Boas has had a successful managerial career, ranking among the top clubs he has managed across Europe with Porto, Chelsea and Tottenham.
He is currently unattached, however, having left Marseille in February 2021.
7. Marcelo Bielsa
The veteran Argentina coach has had an illustrious managerial career spanning 35 years.
He shot into the limelight during his time at Leeds United, where he was sacked in February 2022 after a dismal string of results.
6.Jorge Sampaoli
Sampaoli is among the few managers in Europe to leave their teams.
His last assignment was at Marseille, whom he led to second place last season before retiring from the role after feeling unsupported by the club.
5. Rafael Benitez
Rafa has had a successful career spanning more than three decades.
The tactician has managed top clubs across Europe including Liverpool and Napoli.

His last engagement was at Everton, where he was shown the door in January after a string of poor results.
4. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
The Norwegian has been absent from the coaching bench since his sacking from Manchester United in November 2021.
Recently it was rumored that the former striker is preparing to return to football management.
3. Joachim Loew
Low has spent most of his managerial career at international level.
He managed the German national soccer team in 198 games and helped them win the 2014 World Cup.
However, his ban was ended at last year’s EURO after Germany were knocked out by England in the round of 16.
2.Thomas Tuchel
Tuchel is the youngest victim of a layoff.
The German was shown the door at Stamford Bridge in early September after a slow start to the new season with Chelsea.
He has already been linked with a possible return to management, with Bayern Munich believed to be keen on his services.

And finally, Zidane is on the list.
Zizou, as he is affectionately known, has quit his role at Real Madrid under unclear circumstances.
The Frenchman has never been sacked in his coaching career.
