Sun Life donates $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support Hurricane Fiona relief efforts

TORONTO, September 26, 2022 /CNW/ – Sun Life announced today that it is making a donation $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross in support of Hurricane Fiona relief efforts Eastern Canada.

“The situation in Eastern Canada is devastating and we are here for our customers, consultants, employees and neighbors in our communities affected by Hurricane Fiona,” said Kevin Strain, President and CEO of Sun Life. “Our thoughts are with everyone in the affected areas Atlantic Canada and Eastern Quebecand our donation will help those who need immediate help.”

This contribution will enable the Canadian Red Cross to respond to service, recovery, resilience and risk reduction activities at the individual and community levels. Sun Life also offers employees the opportunity to support Hurricane Fiona relief efforts through its employee donation program. For employees in Canada and the United States who make a personal donation, Sun Life will match their contribution up to a certain amount.

Canadians who wish to help are encouraged to donate to the Hurricane Fiona coming in Canada Appeal at www.redcross.ca or by calling 1-800-418-1111. The government of Canada matches all donations made by Canadians and businesses to the Red Cross Hurricane Fiona coming in Canada Appeal in the next 28 days.
