We have arrived at the most magical time of the year. No, we’re not talking about fall season (although we love where your head is at), but instead the holiday season. After all, what’s the point of the holidays if it’s not a time to indulge in delicious food?
We invite you to share in some of the magic of this season by joining us at the Winter Market this Saturday and Sunday at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont. More than 100 local farmers, ranchers, producers and artisans will sell fresh Colorado produce during holiday shopping.
With just a few days to go, now is a great time to start making your list for the Winter Market. Check out our ideas for what to shoot this weekend.
Collecting on storage products
Farmers markets are our bread and butter, and this weekend will be no different. Visit your favorite ranchers and farmers markets this summer to fill out your holiday menus and stock up on produce for canning, freezing and eating this winter.
This weekend’s produce selection will include apples, winter squash, onions, carrots, potatoes, greens, radishes, ginger, garlic and more. We will also have local meats such as pork, beef and lamb – all raised on Colorado pastures.
Snacks, spreads and sweets
Gluten-free or gluten-loving, vegan or omnivore, dairy-free or dairy-free, from Moon Racoon Baking, Hinman Pie, The Bread Chic and Havnely Baked we have pastries and desserts for every type of sugar lover. We will also eat corn, sauces and local spreads with bread, pasta, crackers and chips.
Give the gift of art
Shop a beautiful selection of jewelry, candles, soaps and textiles – all made by local artisans. Arvada Ceramics Guild, Goddess Gear and Dana Birke Designs are just a few of the artisans that bring precious frame pieces for the art collector in your life. Local art will include ceramics, gold, textiles, fine arts and more.
Diesel up half-shop
Do you carry around those bags of purple cabbage that you make kimchi for knee sticks? Grab a wood-fired pizza from Lenin’s Pizza, treat yourself to Pupusas Familia, or sample a samosa from Susan’s Samosas. And what would it be a Winter Market without hot cocoa or a holiday latte from Fair Isle Coffee?
