KUCHING (September 24): The Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (Mintred) is calling for entries for the Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneur Awards 2022 (AUBS 2022).
His minister, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also Deputy Prime Minister of Sarawak, said this year’s award was presented in cooperation with the Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Chamber (DUBS) and Idris Ibrahim & Co Groups of Companies (116), a locally certified Company, is organized auditing company.
The closing date for entries is October 14th and the awards ceremony will take place on November 11th at the Riverside Majestic Hotel.
Awang Tengah said its main goals are to encourage efforts to produce successful Bumiputera entrepreneurs, to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs through authentic entrepreneurial traits who are creative, innovative and committed, contributing to the economic growth of Sarawak State, and to identify truly outstanding Bumiputera and recognize entrepreneurs who can serve as a role model and benchmark for others.
The awards are divided into several categories – the Outstanding Bumiputera Entrepreneur Award, the Successful Entrepreneur Award and the Emerging Entrepreneur Award.
The “Successful Entrepreneur Award” is divided into four sectors – Development/Real Estate, Manufacturing SMEs/SMEs, Agro/Aqua/Bio and Services (Tourism, Transport, Professional, Food & Beverage and Online Business).
The categories of the Emerging Entrepreneur Award are Women (45 and under), Men (45 and under) and Youth (18 to 30 years).
The winners of each category receive a certificate and a trophy.
In addition, Outstanding Bumiputera Entrepreneur Award and Successful Entrepreneur Award winners are eligible for a RM200,000 Soft Loan Program and Small and Medium Business Funding Assistance.
Emerging Entrepreneur Award winners are eligible for a state government business grant of RM20,000.
“They will also represent Bumiputera entrepreneurs in the Sarawak State Entrepreneur of the Year Award and all national and international entrepreneurial awards,” Awang Tengah said yesterday at a news conference at his office in Wisma Sumber Alam here.
