‘Roshni Nilaya’ & ‘Inland Indoor’ Recipients of Nitte-KBL MSME Business Awards

Roshni Nilaya School of Social Work, Valencia, Mangaluru received the “Best Education Institution Award” and “Inland Indoor”, the Interior Designing & Building owned by Meraj Yusuf, received the “OUTSTANDING ENTREPRENEUR (Service) Award” (Yusuf is the Son of Chairman & Managing Director Inland Infrastructure Developers Pvt Ltd, Siraj Ahmed) the recipients of the NITTE – Karnataka Bank Ltd MSME Conclave & Business Awards 2022 held on Saturday 24th September 2022 at Hotel Ocean Pearl

Mangalore: Atal Incubation Center NITTE and Karnataka Bank Limited (KBL) joined MSME industry members to celebrate the best MSMEs at the NITTE-KBL MSME Conclave & Business Awards 2022 at Hotel Ocean Pearl on September 24, 2022 .

The Conclave was opened by Vishal Hegde, Pro-Chancellor Nitte University, Balachandra – COO Karnataka Bank and CA Ullas Kamath – Founder UK&Co were present as guests. During the inaugural address, Vishal Hegde explained the need to improve the competitiveness of MSMEs in the ever-changing business environment. The conclave featured sessions with five panel discussions on improving the competitiveness of MSE and its translation towards business growth. Industry leaders spoke brightly to MSMEs, who participated wholeheartedly and brightly. In addition, the investment firms (VC/Angels) met with selected MSMEs to assess the feasibility of investment options in promising companies.

The evening witnessed numerous awards from micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) being recognized in various award categories including the Functional Excellence Awards, Outstanding Skills Awards, Jury Recognition Awards and the Special Category Awards.


The Nitte KBL MSME Business Excellence Awards Ceremony was opened by Mahabaleshwara MD and CEO of Karnataka Bank. The main guest was Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor Nitte Deemed to be University, present. Other guests of honor were Dr. Ashok Alur – Director, Center Excellence for FPO nGOK; Kishore Kumar Kodgi- President, CAMPCO; Gokuldas Pai – Chief Business Officer, Karnataka Bank; Ravindra Babu M- Field GM- Union Bank of India, FMG Office, Mangaluru; Vinay Gupta – Network, DGM – Bank of Baroda, Mangalore; Ashoka Thammayya- HR Director, Schneider Electric Industrial Services, among others.

The NITTE-KBL MSME Business Excellence Award recognizes and recognizes micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and demonstrates their commitment to creating sustainable businesses through leadership and innovation. 26 awards were bestowed on the awardees in various business areas, including ROSHNI NILAYA School of Social Work, Mangaluru, which received the BEST EDUCATION INSTITUTION Award, presented by Dr. Julirt C, Director of Roshni Nilaya, along with Dr. Jenis Mary -Vice Director and other faculties; The ‘OUTSTANDING CONTRACTOR (Service) was bagged by Meraj Yusuf, Managing Partner of Ínlan Indoor’, an interior design and construction company founded in 2013. Meraj Yusuf is the son of Inland Infrastructure Developers Pvt Ltd Chairman and CEO Siraj Ahmed) .

The OUTSTANDING WOMAN ENTREPRENEUR AWARD went to Ms. Vathika Pai, the Operations Manager of Nirmala Travels, Mangaluru, founded by her parents in 1971. Accepted by Girish, the Vice President of the hotel; The BEST SOCIAL ENTERPRISE award was bagged by Mangala Resource Management Pvt Ltd, a waste management company, and the award was accepted by Dilraj Alva, the company’s Managing Director, along with Ranjan Bellarpady, the Managing Director, and Sachin Shetty, the Director.

The award ceremony was eloquently and professionally moderated by Dr. Vijayandra Vasant, the Honorable Secretary of Udupi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who kept the audience in a happy mood with his witty punch lines, accompanied by Ms. Soujanya Hegde, model and fashion diva, who meticulously entertained audiences with her presenting talent and glamour.

Discussions at this event will focus on different strategies to improve the competitiveness of MSMEs in India.


Nitte KBL – MSME Conclave – 2022 aims to identify the critical challenges in improving MSME competitiveness and propose appropriate strategies and solutions to improve MSME competitiveness.
