Ogun eyes massive jobs from real estate project


Former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba and traditional rulers including Alayeluwa Oba Rotimi Oluseye Mulero of Ibese have hailed a real estate firm, Pelican Valley Nigeria Ltd, for their initiative to transform the agrarian community of Massa in the state’s Kobape axis.

The real estate company transformed the area with its two-pronged projects, namely Pelican’s Ecostay Smart Apartments and Pelican’s Greenish Acres Farm Estate.

Osoba, whose administration was instrumental in connecting the community to the national grid with a 33 kV power line over two decades ago, said Ecostay Apartments and Greenish Acres Farm Estate would continue to improve the region’s socio-economic status.

He said the projects would generate income and employment for many and complement government efforts to meet the food security and housing needs of Nigerians.

He spoke Sunday at Pelican Brief Estate, Massa, Kobape during the dedication ceremony for Ecostay Apartments and Pelican Greenish Acres Farm Estate.

The former governor was represented by Adekunle Adeyemi, a former federal lawmaker and former secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abeokuta Branch.

The Ecostay Apartments, located in the Pelican Brief Estate, were developed to promote luxury, while the Greenish Acre is a vast expanse of arable and fertile land for farming activities.

According to the company, the project is a conscious step to boost socio-economic activity not only of the estate, but of the Kobape community and Ogun State as a whole.

The layout of the project is planned to house a skid fuel station, recreation centers, a purpose-built lounge, restaurant and club, while the buildings to be constructed there will be used as short-term rental housing for tourists and visitors.

“This will allow landlords of the property to generate rental income as well,” the firm said.

During construction the property will use special materials to protect and preserve the environment.

In addition, the property will be built and sold as part of the package duplexes, three bedroom apartments, two bedroom apartments and one bedroom apartments.
