Bhubaneswar: UK-based Odia entrepreneur Arun Kar makes Odia proud with his revolutionary breakthroughs one after another. The tech entrepreneur, who is also a military veteran, and his business partner Chintan Panara recently developed and industrialized real-time 5G virtual reality software for viewers of the world’s biggest car race at the Silverstone Racing Circuit in the United Kingdom. The immersive 5G experience provided by the application software and activation area let the spectators witness the races as if they were at the race track.
The Silverstone Racing Circuit is a race track in the United Kingdom that hosts iconic racing events such as Formula 1 and the MotoGP British Grand Prix. Most recently in August, Silverstone hosted the world’s largest racing festival ‘The Classic 2022’ which showcased historic racing action across Formula 1, Sportscar, GT and Touring Cars with over 20 races and demonstrations.
Offering incredible insight into how major sports venues can enhance their audience engagement for years to come, Silverstone is collaborating with industry leader Xpertnest (Arun’s company) on a revolutionary project equipped with cutting-edge technology.
The immersive futuristic 5G technology with real-time 360-degree virtual reality in 8k resolution, developed by Arun Kar’s technology company Xpertnest, is a revolutionary technology that allows viewers to follow the event as immersively as if they were on the race track would be present.
“Whether they were in a trackside grandstand or on sofas at home, anyone accessing real-time via the app on their mobile phone felt like they were on the racetrack as the grids of iconic cars headed for the famous Silverstone Grand Break up the Prix track. In addition, viewers could enjoy different perspectives of the show simply by moving their phones or VR headsets,” said Odia entrepreneur Arun Kar and his business partner Chintan Panara, who are also the founders of Xpertnest.
To make this possible, 360 degree cameras were centrally positioned in Silverstone’s paddocks and circuit throughout the festival. A portable, full 5G network, live (real-time) recordings were made accessible in an activation area at The Classic and globally via mobile phones or handheld devices via an app. Visitors to The Classic could also follow the action on VR headsets, which were available throughout the three-day festival.
