JAKARTA (ANTARA) – The number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia is not yet ideal for turning the country into a developed country, according to the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
“To this end, efforts must be made to realize a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurship, including through cross-sectoral synergies, standardization and integration of program implementation at both central and regional levels, as well as the development of business processes in the entrepreneurship ecosystem,” said Irwansyah Putra, deputy MP of the Ministry of Business Ecosystem of the Entrepreneurship, at the event of the National Entrepreneurship Development Workshop in Sukabumi, West Java, according to an official statement here on Sunday.
Putra pointed out that the government issued Presidential Decree No. 2 of 2022 on the Development of National Entrepreneurship to boost the growth and development of entrepreneurship in the country.
The workshop was also one of the efforts to spread Presidential Decree No. 2 of 2022 and support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to enter the digital ecosystem.
“This is a collaboration of different parties, both central and regional governments, the business community and various other stakeholders, to work together to improve the capacity of MSMEs and transform MSMEs into innovative and sustainable businesses,” he explained.
He expressed the hope that the strong zeal of economic actors to rise, the government’s support through various programs and incentives, and the synergy of various parties can promote the birth of entrepreneurs, which can create many job opportunities and drive the birth of new entrepreneurs.
Yulipri, head of the Sukabumi District Office of Cooperatives and SMEs, said the number of MSMEs in Sukabumi District has reached 201,000 and 46,000 of them have business identification numbers (NIBs).
The workshop held by the Ministry of Co-operatives and SMEs greatly helped MSMEs to increase their competitiveness, get knowledge and information on business laws such as NIBs, Home Industry Food (PIRT) and Halal certificates.
