Marsha Blackburn Report: The U.S. Economy Is In A Recession – Clarksville Online

US SenateWashington, D.C – When asked in an interview whether Americans should be preparing for a recession, President Joe Biden said, “It hasn’t happened yet…if it is, it’s going to be a very mild recession.”

Despite what Biden preaches, however, our nation has been in recession since July 2022. Our nation’s GDP fell by 1.6% in the first quarter of 2022 and by 0.6% in the second quarter of 2022.

No matter how many times the Joe Biden administration tries to change the meaning of “recession,” two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth fits the definition. This recession is hurting families and households in Tennessee, and it’s time the President realized that and reversed the policies that are stifling our economy.

While my Republican colleagues and I are doing everything we can to protect children from this illegal substance, it ultimately falls to the Biden administration to secure the border and stop the flow of drugs into our communities.
