Kick Off San Antonio Startup Week with the Co-Founder of AOL

Steve Case, best known as the co-founder of AOL, will help kick off San Antonio Startup Week 2022 during a keynote address on Monday, October 17. Now the Chairman and CEO of Revolution LLC – a Washington-based investment firm that supports entrepreneurs – Case was one of the visionaries who helped AOL become the most valuable Internet company of its time. His book, The Rise of the Rest: How Entrepreneurs in Surprising Places are Building the New American Dream, came out in September. The case is being supported by Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Geekdom COO Phillip Hernandez. Monday, 8:30am-11am Frost Tower, 111 W. Houston St.

Urban Future Lab: Civic engagement & the future of the South

Tuesday, October 18, 2:15 p.m., Main Hall at Geekdom Event Centre, 131 Soledad St.

Antonio Petrov, Ph.D. and founders of UTSA’s Urban Future Lab, will present their latest project, The Future of South. The project focuses on the future of this region considering border, architecture, economy and culture. He will discuss how their research fits into the city and its future development as part of a panel that also includes David Robinson Jr., development manager at Weston Urban, and Alberto Gomez Isassi, co-founder of IRYS.

Future of Marketing Podcast Live

The founding history of the San Antonio Philharmonic

Friday, October 21, 2:15 p.m., Main Hall at Geekdom Event Centre, 131 Soledad St.

It took only four months from the official dissolution of the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra and declaration of bankruptcy to the debut of the San Antonio Philharmonic. Hear from the four musicians who have helped spearhead the new symphonic group, including President and bassoonist Brian Petkovich, through the founding of the organization, from choosing a name to finding supporters and building an entire season appearances.
