Job fair looks to fill 220 positions at Upper Canada Mall

Part-time, full-time, seasonal and long-term positions are available at Newmarket Shopping Center ahead of the holiday season

More than 220 positions are up for grabs at Upper Canada Mall at a job fair this weekend as retailers prepare for the holiday shopping season.

On October 1st and 2nd from 11am to 4pm, 38 retailers and three departments of Upper Canada Mall will be participating in the show. Applicants can submit their CVs and conduct interviews on site.

There are part-time, full-time, seasonal and long-term employment opportunities ahead of the holiday season, which tends to be very busy for shops and Newmarket shopping centre.

“Our retailers are preparing for one of the busiest holiday periods in a long time. The York area has seen population growth, and we’re seeing people in the community coming to Upper Canada to find the stores and brands they’re looking for closer to home,” said Christine Seidman, director of marketing for Upper Canada Mall. “This type of hiring event has proven to be very attractive at an important time and allows us to support both our tenants and our customers.”

The job fair takes place both at the Markthof and in the individual markets.

Three departments of Upper Canada Mall ⁠ – facility operations, guest experience representatives and security⁠ – will also participate, and resumes for these positions can be dropped off at the mall’s guest experience kiosk.
