iCreate and COEP’s Bhau Institute of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership, hosts EVangelise‘22- India’s largest EV Innovation Challenge roadshow in Pune.

September 20, Pune: iCreate (International Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology), India’s leading technology innovation-based start-up incubator, in partnership with Bhau Institute of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership of College of Engineering Pune (COEP), hosted a roadshow with the aim of to engage with the start-up and innovator ecosystem in Pune to attract participants to its flagship EV innovation challenge – EVangelise’22. The challenge consists of prizes of up to INR 1.12 Cr in cash and grants apart from incubation support, mentoring from market leaders, industry connections, ions and opportunities to network and build strategic partnerships.

Innovators, students and startups from across the city attended the event to showcase their breakthrough solutions. Innovators present at the event also presented their solutions onsite to a distinguished panel including Dr. Dhananjay Kumar, Prof Emeritus, PID in Electromobility, COEP, Mr. Shantanu Chaturvedi, Head EV-CoE, iCreate, and Mr. Shantanu Poddar, Head-Sales and Promotion, iCreate. Shortlisted applicants won a cash prize of ₹50,000 and direct entry into EVangelise ’22.

Mr. Shantanu Chaturvedi and Mr. Shantanu Poddar introduced the attending students and innovators to EVangelise’22 and iCreate’s EV Center of Excellence and its efforts to foster breakthroughs in the Indian EV ecosystem.

Mr. Shripad Chandrachood, Principal Application Engineer – Electrification Technologies Mathworks, delivered the keynote address at the event and spoke about their technology partnership with iCreate. The event also recognized the presence of Dr. Dhananjay Kumar, Professor Emeritus, PID in Electromobility, COEP; dr Sanjay Dambhare, Head of CoE, Smart Renewable Energy System, COEP, who shared his thoughts on the need to foster entrepreneurial skills and their importance to the promising EV ecosystem in India.

In early June 2022, iCreate announced EVangelise ’22 in partnership with Startup India and the CII – CoE for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Start-ups (CII-CIES) with the aim of solving real-world challenges in the Indian electric vehicle industry. The challenge brings together some of the most prominent industry players to offer their mentoring support and strategic partnerships to the applying innovators.

In an effort to connect and identify promising innovations nationwide through EVangelise, iCreate has partnered with leading institutes to host roadshows in their respective locations including Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Agra, Mathura, Kanpur and Noida , to name just a few.

Launched with the concept of accelerating the adoption of EVs in the country, EVangelise is an annual event hosted by iCreate to identify the next generation of game-changing innovators in the EV sub-components segment. The application deadline for EVangelise ’22 is September 25, 2022. Applications are open to individual innovators, startups, students, researchers and EV enthusiasts driven by a passion for technical innovation and an ambition to transform the EV industry .
