Glovo Ghana partners Kosmos Innovation & Open Value Foundation for Impact Entrepreneurship…

Kosmos Innovation Center Ghana, Glovo and Open Value Foundation are organizing an Impact Entrepreneurship Competition for innovative and successful Ghanaian-owned companies that are making a positive impact on society to strengthen the Impact ecosystem in the country and help bridge the gap to bridge between impact and profit.

The Impact Entrepreneurship Competition is aimed at entrepreneurs and young companies that have a positive impact on Ghana’s economic, social and/or environmental sectors and contribute to the country’s sustainable development.

Over $20,000 in cash prizes and more than $5,000 in non-cash prizes will be awarded to selected entrepreneurs during the contest. The winner will receive a $15,000 stipend supported by the Open Value Foundation. $10,000 will be awarded by the Anesvad Foundation to a company dedicated to improving the health and well-being of others, including companies concerned with environmental issues that affect people’s health.

Additionally, based on judges’ criteria, each Live Pitch participant has the opportunity to receive a support package that includes mentoring, investor readiness advice, networking and introductions to other sources of funding and ways to access products and/or services provided by partners and be donated to employees.

To enter the competition, the Ghana registered company must have raised less than $250,000 in funding, have been in operation for 2 or more years, have a clear for-profit or sustainable business model with potential for scaling, and the ability to demonstrate positive social impact in Ghana (to rural, low-income or disadvantaged communities).

The competition consists of 2 phases. The first phase will be through an online submission, while the second phase will be a physical event where the top eight shortlisted companies will appear in person before a panel of judges and investors. The live pitch will take place in Accra on November 4, 2022.
