Galway medtech ICS Medical to create 100 jobs at new facility


ICS Medical plans to build more space in its new building for additional manufacturing and clean room facilities over the next year.

The medical technology company ICS Medical from Galway is to create 100 new jobs in the region. The hiring news comes as ICS Medical officially opened its new manufacturing and R&D facility in Galway.

The company moved to its new facility in May 2022. The move doubled its capacity to serve a growing international customer base. ICS Medical specializes in the design and manufacture of catheters.

It works with international medical technology companies on the design, development and commercialization of catheters, access sheaths, balloon catheters, valve delivery systems and stent delivery systems.

It is supported by Enterprise Ireland’s High Potential Start Up programme. The company has seen significant growth throughout 2022 after being founded just three years ago.

ICS Medical has already started hiring new employees for engineering, R&D and manufacturing. The new employees complement the company’s existing workforce of more than 70 people.

It also announced today (September 20) that it plans to add 10,000 square feet to its new building. It is hoped that this investment will support the further growth of the company.

The expansion of the new building is planned for 2023. He will expand the existing operation with production and clean room space. As part of ICS Medical’s continued expansion, a new Customer Innovation Center will open to provide technical support for the development of minimally invasive catheters. The catheters are intended to be used to make certain surgeries safer and more tolerable. In addition, ICS Medical plans to add new technologies to support its catheter capabilities.
