Meme makers on social media flooded Twitter with memes and videos celebrating Twitter’s acquisition of Tesla CEO Elon Musk and criticized liberals expressing anger over the move.

Musk told of his $44 billion purchase of Twitter that became final Thursday in a letter to advertisers this week, warning of the dangers of “echo chambers.”
“The reason I acquired Twitter is that it is important for the future of civilization to have a common digital town square where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy way without resorting to violence.” Musk posted on Twitter, “There is a great danger at present that social media will split into far-right and far-left echo chambers that generate more hatred and divide our society.”

Musk turned a blind eye to “hate speech” while addressing those who fear Musk, Musk said the social media platform “cannot become a free-for-all hellscape”.
Musk said the company will abide by the “laws of the land,” but it will also be a place that is “warm and welcoming to everyone, where you can choose your desired experience however you like.”
