California Democrat’s wife works for entity boosting Virginia economy by taking jobs away from his state

FIRST ON FOX: In his capacity as a member of Congress, Rep. Josh Harder, D-Calif. to achieve this more jobs for the Golden State.

However, his wife works for a government agency in Virginia that has the goal boost Virginia’s economy – including recruiting companies from other states.

Pam Harder, the congressman’s wife, has been an employee of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) for over three years.

According to her LinkedIn accountPam Harder currently works at VEDP as Director of Strategy and Operations for the Office of Education Economics and has held that role since January 2022. She also initially held a number of other directorships in the Strategic Talent Initiatives Office at VEDP in May 2019.

One of the projects she helped lead was “$1.1 billion Amazon HQ2 Rollout and Scale-up and Virginia’s Tech Talent Investment Program.” She also recently founded, founded and is a founding member of the newly created Virginia Office of Education Economics, which is “a statewide labor market analysis group focused on studying the interfaces between education and work in Virginia to support and support them to inform policy and practice change.”

The VEDP was established by the Virginia state legislature in 1995 “to encourage, stimulate and assist the development and expansion of the economy of the Commonwealth”.

“To achieve these goals, the partnership focuses on business acquisition, expansion and international trade,” the company said VEDP website reads.

The VEDP wants to ensure “effective marketing programs are carried out” and engage in “business and product development activities” and promote “coordination of economic development organizations”.

“With dedicated and knowledgeable professionals dedicated to Virginia’s economic success, VEDP helps companies find the resources they need for successful relocation and expansion,” the website reads.

In recent years, Virginia has seen a massive expansion of business on its East Shores, such as Amazon’s plan to open a second headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.

California companies have not been absent from America’s growing Great Firm Migration, with even Virginia poaching companies from the Golden State.

One of these industrial giants is Nestle, the moved its North America headquarters 2018 cross-country from California to Arlington County, Virginia – just outside of Washington, DC

Even Apple was exploring the option Moving to the Old Dominion in 2018 while looking for a place to set up its then-new headquarters and met with now-former Gov. Ralph Northam at their California offices to discuss a potential deal.


Prior to VEDP, Pam Harder worked at Clever, Inc. in San Francisco as the director of strategy and operations.

The California congressman’s office and VEDP did not respond to Fox News Digital’s questions regarding his wife’s employment in the state of Virginia.
