The 19th Annual Ontario Economic Summit will focus on strategies to support the province’s growth

TORONTO – September 22, 2022 – Today, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) announced the exciting in-person return of its flagship annual event, the Ontario Economic Summit (OES). In his 19thth The OES will take place from November 22nd to 23rd, 2022 at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto. This year’s theme is building Ontario’s growth agenda, and sessions will explore innovative strategies to support Ontario’s growth, resilience and competitiveness.
“We are very excited to host the highly anticipated return of the Ontario Economic Summit in November. This unique and intimate event focuses on solutions to support Ontario’s long-term success and will attract leaders from across industries,” said Rocco Rossi, President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. “Though recent years have brought unprecedented challenges, the OES is an opportunity to unite Ontario around a common purpose and redefine its future.”
OES issues include seizing opportunities between Canada and the United States; building a more resilient workforce and tackling the war on talent; Address vulnerabilities in our healthcare system, strengthen our supply chains and seize the opportunity to lead in the green economy.

“The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic crisis have created an unstable business environment in Ontario, exacerbating inflation, labor shortages and supply chain challenges. Ontario must balance short-term needs with the need for strategic, long-term investments in economic growth to become competitive on the global stage,” Rossi added.
For the past 19 years, the OES has brought together leaders from business, labor, academia, the nonprofit sector and government to shape Ontario’s public policy agenda and strengthen Ontario’s economy. OES 2022 will feature interactive presentations, engaging keynotes and small group discussions, giving delegates the opportunity to engage with thought leaders from both the public and private sectors.
